1 Killed After Head On Collision With Suspected Drunk Driver in San Diego

head on collisionOne person was killed in a head on collision with a driver suspected of driving while under the influence San Diego Saturday evening.

A 45-year-old man driving a Nissan on the southbound side of Old Highway 395 around 4:55 p.m. drifted over the double yellow lines and collided head on with a Volvo.

A 68-year-old female passenger in the Volvo was pronounced dead on the scene.

Both drivers were injured and rushed to Palomar Hospital.

The driver of the Nissan suffered major injuries and had to be airlifted, while the driver of the Volvo suffered moderate injuries.

Oceanside CHP are looking into the cause of the accident, but suspect alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
