Tuesday afternoon 8 children were injured and 2 were critically injured after a 70-foot tree fell on day campers waiting to be picked up by their parents at the Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena.
The incident occurred around 4:50 p.m. near the entrance of the museum.
A witness claimed that they heard cracking noises and turned around to the see 70-foot tree falling down.
Five children suffered minor injuries and were able to be treated on the scene. Two children had to hospitalized for their injuries.
Later, a third child was brought to the hospital by their grandparents, but was listed under good condition.
There were a total of 33 campers between the ages of 6 to 8 years-old at the time of accident.
Rescuers were cutting down branches to search for possible victims, but no one else was found.
No other information was released on the condition of the children.
