Five Injured After Sheriff Deputy Crashes Into Family Van in San Diego


Sheriff deputy crashes into family vanEarly Sunday morning five people were injured after a Sheriff’s Deputy crashed into a family van in San Diego.

The crash occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on the off-ramp from State Route 78 near West San Marcos Boulevard.

The family van was stopped at a light when the deputy lost control of his car. He then crashed into the van carrying a family of five, including young children.

One child sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The deputy and a youth explorer on a ride along were also hospitalized with minor injuries.

Officials closed the roads for four hours to clean up the damage.

The incident is under investigation.
