A 25-year-old mother was arrested on suspicion of DUI after she slammed her car into a building while her 2-year-old child was inside the car in San Diego.

The incident occurred just before midnight on Tuesday evening, when the driver drove over the median on Mission Gorge Road and proceeded to drive the wrong direction for about a block.

The car then veered up onto the sidewalk at Town Center Parkway, driving into a Costco parking lot.

Officials exclaimed the vehicle lost a wheel and drove up an embankment into the back wall of a dry cleaning store. There was significant damage to the back wall of the building.

Both the mother and child were not injured. However the mother was arrested for driving under the influence and child endangerment.

The child is under the care of family members.

When a car slams into a building there can be several people who may have been in harms way. Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident. Yet, if there were people inside the building or surrounding the area and were injured due to the reckless driver, it can be fought.
