Late Wednesday evening of May 6th, a young 13-year-old skateboarder was fatally struck by a car in South L.A. in the Florence-Firestone neighborhood.
The accident happened shortly before 10 p.m. when the 13-year-old male skateboarder was struck by a car at Hooper Avenue and 77th Place.
The young skateboarder was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the driver remained on the scene of the collision and was not arrested.
CHP officers are investigating the fatal collision.
The young victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
