Three Pedestrian Accidents Near Modesto High School in Modesto


Pedestrian accidentA 15-year-old girl is in critical condition after being struck by a truck across from Modesto High School Monday morning.

The incident occurred around 7:45 a.m. at the crosswalk at Tuolumne Boulevard and Yosemite Avenue.

The young female was walking in the crosswalk when she was struck by the truck.

Five minutes after the girl was struck, a 12-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle while crossing a four-way stop at Floyd and Fine avenues.

The boy was airlifted to the hospital in stable condition.

Shortly after, around 8:30 a.m. a 58-year-old man was struck by a vehicle at Sutter Avenue and Paradise Road, only a few blocks away from Modesto High School.

The man was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

All three drivers remained on the scene and are cooperating with authorities.

Drivers must follow speed limits around school zones. These intersections are busy during the morning and afternoons. As pedestrians, always look at both sides before crossing the street.
