Two OC Teen Campers Killed by Falling Tree in Yosemite


Killed by falling treeTwo Orange County teen campers were killed by a falling tree in Yosemite last Friday.

The accident occurred around 5 a.m. while the two male victims were sleeping at the Upper pines Campground. A branch from an oak tree had fallen on top of their tent.

When park rangers arrived to the scene, the two teens had succumbed to their injuries.

The two teens played at the Northwood Water Polo Club in Irvine for three years. A vigil will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the Northwood High School pool in Irvine.

Yosemite officials did not attribute to the tree branch falling in Friday’s accident to any specific cause.
