Thousands of bottles of the popular Wish-Bone Ranch Salad dressing is being recalled because they contain blue cheese dressing instead.
The New Jersey based Pinnacle Foods Group claimed that 8,678 cases of 24-ounce were accidentally filled with blue cheese instead.
Blue cheese dressing contains eggs. Which could be dangerous for consumers who are allergic to eggs.
Children are more susceptible to egg allergies.
Those who are allergic to eggs will have skin rashes, nasal congestions, or vomiting.
Fortunately, there is little danger of life-threatening anaphylaxis according to Mayo Clinic.
The affected bottles of dressing were filled on April 23, 2015. Consumers can identify the bottles by their “best by” date of “Feb17 or 16”.
The items can be returned for a full refund.
Pinnacle Food Groups exclaimed that they did notify the Food and Drug Administration as well as their distributors and retailer.
