A 10-year-old girl was hospitalized Friday afternoon after losing consciousness during a roller coaster ride at Magic Mountain in Valencia. She was pronounced dead on Saturday after the accident.
The young victim rode the ride called Revolution and was unconscious, but breathing when the ride was finished.
Paramedics arrived on the scene around 4 p.m. and the girl was airlifted to a local hospital.
On Friday the state investigators determined the cause of the accident was unrelated to the operation of the ride. The ride was later reopened after the incident.
Due to the death of the young girl, the ride was temporarily closed again on Monday pending a review.
According to the theme park, the ride, Revolution, has been ridden safely by over 45 million people since it opened in 1976.
